Safe Manifesto of the OPA

Safe Manifesto

One of our main aims within the OPA is to provide a safe space to young researchers to share their ideas and debate. That can only be achieved by assuring that the OPA congress becomes a safe space entirely and for all.

The Organising Committee, and a purposely created Purple Commission (Comissió Lila de la OPA), has developed a Safe Manifesto which represents the values and views of the Organising Committee and pretends to highlight
our zero-tolerance policy towards gender-based violence, abuse of power, bullying, and racist or LGTBIQ+ phobic behaviours.

We invite every participant at the OPA congress of 2023, “Erased from the Past”, to carefully read this Safe Manifesto and to join our initiative in promoting a safe space in Archaeology and Academia.

Punt Lila

The Punt Lila of the OPA is a space that seeks the prevention of harassment, abuse and sexual, sexist and/or LGBTI+ phobic violences within the OPA Congress.

It serves as an information point, but also as a reference point to seek suport and help in case any of these events occur. You can find us phisically in the 4th floor, in the entrance of the OPA main conference room (Sala Jane Addams, 4th floor). Punt Lila volunteers will wear a badge and will be easily identifiable.

Virtually you can contact us through our social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram) and through this contact form that links to our mail account:
